Al Ruggiero has been an invaluable asset to Proehlific Park long before the doors opened. Serving as the Grounds and Maintenance Coordinator, Al has been on site since the beginning of construction, serving as both construction project manager and as our lead landscaping architect. Al is passionate about teaching horticulture to young people and looks forward to sharing his knowledge and experience with others at Proehlific Park.

Al has had a passion for horticulture since a young age. Originally from Greensboro, Al has over 30 years experience in the horticultural field. Certified and licensed in the state of North Carolina as a horticulturalist, Al’s area of expertise spans a wide range of topics and specialties. Al also spent 4-years serving in the Marine Corp as a Sgt. of Marines for the MC 2nd Division Elite Super Squad.  Al comes to us from Westover Church where he oversaw the multi-million-dollar renovation and relocation.

Al and his wife have three children- Brianna, Joseph and Jewel. In his spare time, Al serves as a team leader of Agents of Grace and has worked with many schools and organizations to clean and beautify local schools and churches. Al also serves as a student mentor for Western Guilford High School and works with students helping to earn their Eagle badges.
